Cosi fan tutte, Theaterhaus Stuttgart, 2014

Anne Wieben marvelously sang Fiordiligi’s breathtakingly yet brazenly composed coloratura.

Fabian Stallknecht |8.10.2014| https://fabiuskulturschockblog.wordpress.com

… The more serious and more durable sister, Fiordiligi, is often in danger of coming across somewhat pale and overly serious, although they (the sisters) are actually going through a quite similar development.
Anne Wieben did it quite differently, and absolutely splendidly succeeded in bringing out the latent comic pathos of her two great solo numbers. With her metallic soprano she mastered the heights of the dreaded “Come scoglio” aria easily, but she also offered up warm colours.

Anne Wieben-an american Viennese with a bundle of charm under her red-blond hair- enchanted the audience with her genuine interpretation of the aria ‘Welche Wonne, Welche Lust’. … All of the singers presented their roles just as lively as in a fully-staged production, especially Bryan Benner (Bass) as Robinson, and the soprano Anne Wieben as his wife Dot. The fantastic voices made this entertaining opera a complete success.

… The lead character Diana is played by the captivating Anne Wieben. It is not surprising that she not only has sung the [mezzo] roles of Nicklausse and the Composer but also the soprano roles of Fiordiligi, Contessa and Rosalinde. Her warm-sounding yet clear voice flourishes and leads the cast convincingly and with great impetus.

Münchner Merkur / TZ, June 28, 2011

… In her opera directing debut, Julia Dippel and her theatrically enthusiastic singer ensemble present a clever and unhindered comedy with a dark undercurrent… Anne Wieben with a secure high register as Donna Anna… Ample, heartfelt applause.

Münchner Merkur – Würmtal, June 30,2011

The young singer ensemble loves and hates up-close… the scorned yet spellbound duo, Donna Elvira and Donna Anna (Anne Wieben, sensual with bare shoulders, not the standard frigid ditz, loaded with vocal energy), … command the stage …
